If your energy supplier is SSE, insulation grants could help you lower the cost of your annual heating bills. Uninsulated homes typically lose around one third of their heat through their walls and loft.

Along with other large energy companies, SSE is required to provide grants on behalf of the ECO scheme to eligible households to help them install energy efficient home improvements without any cost to them. In order to qualify for free insulation with SSE under the ECO4 scheme, you need to meet certain requirements. This includes owning your home or being a privately renting tenant, having a low Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating due to poor heat retention, being on a low income, or receiving an income-related benefit from the list below.
